The United Kingdom’s Brexit is facing similar situation.
In media, you will notice news media focusing on sensationalism than really reporting facts and news. Shock value or emotional opinion seems more important than factuality. Even seeing constant typos or grammatical errors, on the news and in the internet have become commonplace. It’s almost like children who have no proper adult supervision on proper speech or grammar. Or even worse, fake news being reported without proper fact checking or investigation. How can any news channels or the press be that irresponsible?
In TV and film, South Park, Simpsons and Family Guy, which are very popular shows, still have huge viewership and interestingly have young boys or idiots as main characters. Jackass the movie, Dumb and Dumber, World’s dumbest, Forrest Gump are some other popular media featuring humor of idiocy and stupidity.
In other genre, the Darwin Awards recognize individuals who have contributed to human evolution by selecting themselves out of the gene pool from dying or becoming sterilized via their own actions.
